The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 19

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 19

Gratefulness – a rare feeling among people, between people and God as well. “In everything
give thanks,” say’s the word of God. Being grateful is a virtue. Look back and remember all the
blessings you received and give thanks to God in prayer for all of them.

Fruit day! One in the morning, one in the afternoon, one at night. Pure health!

Coldness, grudges, and distance in relationships start with small thoughts or feelings, which we
hold against another person. Your relationship task for today is to ransack your heart and mind
to see if there is anything polluting your heart and distancing you from someone. Don’t be so
quick to say that there is nothing there. If there is a person you have avoided, who you prefer
not to talk to or you have been jealous of, you’ve had hard feelings towards, or any other kind
of negative feeling; you probably need to have some emotional spring-cleaning.

Hobbies are activities you practice regularly during your free time which bring you a lot of
relaxation and enjoyment. If you use a bit of creativity and entrepeneurship (I confess it’s best
to consult the dictionary on this one,) a hobby can bring you extra money. There is the
challenge for you to grow financially. Start to search!

We all have a negative voice that talks to us the whole time (the one that said to some of you,
a few seconds ago, this hobby business is not for you, you don’t have time for these things, it
won’t work out, too much work involved etc.), so your job is going to be to silence that voice,
saying words of faith above it every time it opens up its nasty mouth to criticize or throw a
“bucket of cold water” on things.

We’re in the last lap… Until tomorrow!

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 18

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 18

Imagine this: you get to the airport, put $500 at the desk of an airliner and
say to the attendant: “One ticket please.” The attendant asks: “To where?”
and you answer: “Who cares, I’m very busy, just sell me the ticket.”

What would happen?
Eventually, the attendant would call security; who would come to remove
you from the airport, and probably take you to a psyche ward.
Crazy? Funny?

But it’s exactly the way that some people live their lives: without goals,
objectives, a destination. They’re going, walking, but they don’t know
where. Like the cat in Alice in Wonderland said: “If you don’t know where
you’re going, any road will get you there.”

Goals stimulate conquests. If you don’t have any goals you will probably
lose time, resources and opportunities.

So your task for today is to write goals for the five areas of your life –
goals that have a defined deadline of when you should accomplish them. It
can be, for example, until the end of 2013 or a year from now. These goals
should be specific, calculable, reachable, and be goals with deadlines,
which are important to you.

Keep these goals in a place that you can see daily.

See you tomorrow!

Goals provide the energy source that powers our lives. One of the best
ways we can get the most from the energy we have is to focus it. That is
what goals can do for us; concentrate our energy. – Denis Waitley

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 17

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 17

The best way to know if you have the Holy Spirit or not is to evaluate your
life in relationship to the fruits which should exist in all those who possess
Him. To make a thorough analysis is your Spiritual task for today.

Eating with your eyes – this is usually an evil most of us commit (including
myself.) Today our task is to eat in smaller portions. Eat slower, get up
from the table at the end, so you don’t end up nibbling on this or that.
Listen to the voice of our stomach and not our eyes – those are some
helpful tips. If there’s no problem that you gain some weight (unlike the
most of us,) you will simply evaluate how healthy are the foods you
normally take in, consider if you need to make any changes.

Relationships: it’s a known fact that asking repeatedly for a person to
change doesn’t work. Jesus once said we should treat others as we would
like to be treated. Unless you like it when someone is pressuring you, don’t
pressure your son, wife, husband, or whoever. People change because
they want to, not because others want them to. So, take off the pressure,
and ask God for wisdom on how to motivate the person to change for
themselves, and not through imposition.

The financial task is super-interesting. Do you need some money but don’t
have it. Is what you have only a fraction of what you need? What can you
do to multiply your money into two, five, or even 10 times that amount? Is
it possible to change 1 dollar into 10? 10 into 100? And 100 into 1,000?
This challenge can result in the money that you need and also give you
excellent business ideas… It’s for those who believe. Those who do this, let
me know the results in the end.

See you tomorrow!

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 16

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 16

Did you know that Brazilians consume around 52 kilos of sugar per year?
And the worldwide amount is 22 kilos? Refined sugar is responsible for
many sicknesses. There are some who have a no sugar tolerance,
substituting it with honey, natural sugars from fruit, or non-caloric
sweeteners in moderation. Today let’s see how we go through the day
without sugar.

When was the last time you brought someone to know Jesus? Saving souls
should be the daily concern for Christians. But at times we keep insisting
on the same people who don’t want Jesus (yet,) and we forget about the
others who are thirsty. Pray to God in regards to this today, for Him to
show you someone who needs to know Him, and ask God direction on how
to present Jesus to that person.

In order to experience personal growth we need to have order, clarity, and
a clean mind. And we can’t have a clean mind when our workplace, studio,
computer, or even our own room or office is a mess. That’s why today you
will take an hour to organize.

The other tasks don’t need an explanation; they simply need to be done!

See you tomorrow.

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 15

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 15

God promises blessings to both those who humble themselves as well as
those who are humiliated. Your prayer and meditation will be about this
teaching and promise.

Preventive medicine, don’t wait to have a toothache to go to the dentist, or
wait for any other kind of pain to go to the doctor. The best way to prevent
any problems is to have regular check-ups.

Relationships: today’s task will help you to think more of others around
you. There are some people who need a rest from hearing your voice…
and there are others who need to hear it.

Financial: do you remember the first two tasks of this purpose, in regards
to debts? Get the job done and set the date, calculating how long it will
take to finally pay off all your debts. Write that date in a visible place and
work hard to reach your objective.

Personal growth: if you work as a secretary, buy a book on being an
excellent secretary. If you’re a seamstress, buy a book about sewing.
Basically, you should improve in your line of work, learning from those who
know best.

See you tomorrow!

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 14

The Fast of Daniel Purpose – Day 14

Going to church is one thing, and going to church thirsty for God is another. When you go to church, go with one objective. Don’t get distracted with those who are there or not, so-and-so’s clothes, the way the Pastor preaches, basically – be focused on one thing: God. You will get much more out of the meeting.

Health:
I love fried food. But it’s not good for you, in excess. So, today we won’t eat anything fried. If you can reduce the fried foods in your diet to 1 to 2 times a week (if not all together,) even better.

Relationships: who doesn’t like to receive compliments? When the compliment is sincere, it can make the persons day, and even change it. Complimenting doesn’t come natural to me – not because I don’t notice things to compliment, but I become shy. That’s why I have to make a big effort, and many others I believe. But the benefits are great. So, today, notice something positive about someone – husband, wife, son, friend, colleague etc. – make it a point to express your admiration. “I like your new haircut.” “You cook so well.” “I have always admired your sincerity.”

The financial task is self-explanatory. All that needs to be said is: when you reduce the amount of clothes in your closet to only the things you need, you will gain space and you could even make some extra cash selling the clothes you don’t need, or you will help lots of people when you donate them to an organization which gives to the needy. Not to mention this task will help you see what a small amount of clothes you really need.

And don’t forget: punctuality is a sign of competency and respect. Always arrive before the scheduled time, never after!

See you tomorrow!

Common people simply think about how to pass the time. Extraordinary people think about how to use time.

The Fast of Daniel Purpose - Day 13

The Fast of Daniel Purpose - Day 13

The focal point of this Fast of Daniel is the Holy Spirit. Today your spiritual task is to sacrifice a part of your sleep and seek Him at one of the suggested times. Do you want to do it at another time? Go ahead, but do it.

It would be good if Saturday would become the official day to sweat - literally.
You're going to see how much better your disposition and energy will be.

Do you have a family member who comes to your head at the weirdest times?
It's probably your conscious charging you that you should contact them. Take some time and contact them.

Financially, consider the rule of this great business man: "Live with 70 percent of your income; economise or invest 20%; but give the first 10% to God." As an example, let's say you make $1,000.00
so program yourself to live on $700, save or invest $200, but always return your tithes first to God. The same rule can be applied to your company, if you have your own business.

You are probably reading from your computer, which has become more common and necessary to use. But if you still type as if you're "picking corn," one of the best investments you can make is typing without having to look at the keyboard - which is easier than you think. There are some sites which you can learn for free - you simply have to apply yourself with discipline:
http://www.typingweb.com/ is one, and http://www.keybr.com/ is another.

(There are also courses as well as apps for your computer. Search for "typing course" and you will see many options.)

See you tomorrow!
