We have nothing to lose

"If you try to keep your life you will lose it"

Jacob was greatly afraid and distressed when he found out his brother was coming to meet him with four hundred men, he knew he was about to lose his life and everything he had, so before he lost it he made them cross over the brook and was alone ready to face his brother.

I look at it as he had nothing to lose anymore and was now ready to face anything.

Then the Angel appeared to him.

Jesus said: "Whoever tries to keep their life will lose it, and whoever loses their life will preserve it.
Lk 17:33 NIV

It is one thing for someone to take something from you and it is another thing for you to give it. One way or another we will lose it.

We can chose to feel the pain of sacrifice and voluntarily give or we can try to keep it and end up losing everything.

Jesus said also: No one can take my life from me. I sacrifice it voluntarily. For I have the authority to lay it down when I want to and also to take it up again. For this is what my Father has commanded."     John 10:18 NLT Meditate and act on it. God Bless you.
